March 26-28
We visited a regenerative beef, pork, sheep, and chicken farm in northeastern Arkansas and enjoyed learning about how they steward the land. No photos, but we did buy a (camper) freezer full of meat, including some ground lamb.
Our next stop was more of a homestead focused on permaculture, located in eastern Oklahoma. The animals and children abounded at this place! Our hosts provided an informative tour of how they are using permaculture principles on their land and we even got to learn a snippet about humanure. We’re not sure if we’d be ready for that leap.
Wedged between these two stays, we met up with my dear Oklahoman cousin, Elaine and her daughter, Haley. They were on their way east, and we were on our way west, so we met at a little pull over along a river in Eastern Oklahoma.
