After being “home” for a few days, we ventured out again to the U.P. We were meeting my cousins and Nana out there! It was very lovely! We were able to be in both lake Superior and Michigan. A highlight of our trip was going on a boat tour on Lake Michigan. The tour was displaying what they call “painted rocks”, layers of different colored rocks forming the banks of the lake. The oranges, reds, and yellows of the rocks were stunning against the teal blue water! Other than that we mostly played and relaxed on the beach. It is surprising how much warmer the U.P. side of Lake Superior is compared to the north shore!

Eating lunch near some moored boats. Shortly after we rushed into the picnic shelter because there was a POUNDING rainstorm! My cousins’ car’s tires were like half submerged in water during the rain cuz the parking lot was so full of it! This was an eventful place, because on top of that, we got a parking ticket for taking up too many spaces in a gigantic parking lot that was not even full…
We made good memories full of sunshine and play time on this excursion.
